The
Revelation of John, Part 1 |
For
centuries many have tried to interpret this book, which is a written revelation
from Jesus Christ to John, which he received while banned on the island of Patmos.
Even today, we find in libraries, writings from people who have tried to write
down, according to their opinion, the answer to what the future holds. As long
as these interpretations are based upon human wisdom, they will always become
misinterpretations. And this, of course, brings the reader to misunderstand,
and this results in nothing positive. The book of revelation is not written
to people who have no relationship to the living God, and are standing outside
of Jesus Christ. That is why they will never understand this book. Their interpretations
could consist of part truths, and yet this would not help the reader either.
As an example for such things happening, we find false interpretations coming
from the time of the middle ages. People who lived during these days took those
portraits of the devil painted with hooves and horns, as if they had photographed
him, very seriously. The catholic church fought against the statements made,
that proclaimed the earth was round, even though the Bible itself had always
said so. In many of the antique drawings one sees Jesus, his disciples and the
roman soldiers all with the clothing from the century in which they were drawn.
Also pictures that had to do with the revelation of John were painted in such
a way as one could have imagined in that day and time they were made.
They said as Luther did, that the antichrist were the popes, because
Rome slaughtered thousands of people that didn´t want to submit to the
roman doctrines. It is true, that the roman catholic church has the blood of
their own and others souls on their hands. Just as Stalin, Hitler and many other
state rulers have blood on their hands.
Of course, it is impossible, that the catholic church and many other church
institutions could be the true church of the Lord Jesus Christ. And yet, the
real antichrist, of which John talks about, has not yet appeared. He will though
(at a time which God chooses) be revealed. The true and right interpretation
will only come about, if one compares the scriptures of the Bible with one another.
For every key has it´s own lock. One´s own opinion should not intervene
in the interpretation. The Word of God should be left to speak and explain for
itself, and it does!
Everything seems to point towards the appearing and manifestation of the antichrist.
And more and more time is running out before our eyes, in which time this antichrist,
of which John writes about, will appear. With the national and spiritual power,
which he receives, he will bring millions of people to fall under his control.
All those, that reject his rulership and system, will be punished to death according
to his laws. And for this reason, it is important for us to have the guidance
of the Word of God, to recognize and know the times we are living in.
No joke, but the endtime-clock is already ticking away. The time in which the
gospel of Jesus is still going to be preached is very short, and then the evil
one, will come and make his appearance. Bush, for example, said about the countries
of Iraq, Iran and others, they were the axis of evil and corrupt nations. Many
laughed about this statement. But how far can people, who really love freedom
and don´t accept a statecontrolled system in which “big brother
is watching you”, see the truth of the matter? Will they soon be considered bandits, people that are against
righteous order or are they already such individuals? For Saddam and many moslem
state rulers, America and other western nations are of satan to them. A thing
of perspective, everyone has the right to have the wrong opinion. But where
can this satan really be found? Maybe in both of these perspectives?
Now, even the virgins are becoming weary and are almost missing the return of
the LORD (Math.25), how terrible will it be for those that do not believe?
What does the Bible say in view of this short endtime period? What does it say
about state order of the antichrist? Or about the nations that make their power
available to him? What does the Bible say about the force and control over individual
people that are within his region of rulership? Or what does it say about what
will happen to these that take his name or mark upon themselves, and those that
reject it? Where can you really find God? Where is His true church to be found?
Will He always just keep quiet and watch? We must know that this book of revelation
has already been written, and the time is already set in which this all will
be fulfilled. We cannot change what´s going to happen, but we can prepare
ourselves for the coming of the LORD, because very soon the first pages of this
book will be opened by JESUS Christ Himself! rw
